Mr. Okereke Chinwike is a Lawyer and International Development Expert, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of African Law Foundation (AFRILAW), Enugu, Enugu State of Nigeria. He has worked previously as the Programme Manager of the Nigeria Coalition on International Criminal Court (NCICC), Abuja, the Head of the Legal Department and Programme Officer (Legal) with the Civil Resource Development and Documentation Center (CIRDDOC Nigeria), Enugu and the Registrar, Rocana Institute of Technology (RIT), Enugu and a Law Lecturer with the Federal Polytechnic Idah, Kogi State, Nigeria.
Mr. Okereke is the Convener and National Coordinator of Men United for Gender Justice (Menunited), and an Independent Consultant for DFID/UKaid Voices for Change (V4c) Programme, Enabling Growth and Access for Girls & Women in Enugu (ENGAGE) Project in Enugu State. He was also the Zonal Coordinator for the Centre for Research and Information on Substance Abuse (CRISA)/UNODC/EU/FGN National Survey on Problems Drug Use in Nigeria and Key Informant in Anambra, Imo and Abia States, and have worked as a Consultant for the World Bank/Enugu State National Fadama III Project on providing Community Level Capacity Building Services for group members of Obeagu, Nkwe, Mmaku, and Ugwueme Fadama Community Associations (FCAs)/FUGs in Agwu LGA in Enugu State.
Mr. Okereke is a law graduate from the Faculty of Law, Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Enugu and the Nigeria Law School, Abuja. He is a Post-Graduate Student in Development Studies, Institute of Development Studies (IDS), University of Nigeria Enugu Campus (UNEC), Enugu.
He has also obtained many professional training such as Advanced Human Rights Course on Business and Human Rights, Center for Human Rights, Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria, South Africa (2016), Africa Regional Legal Training on Health and Human Rights, Southern Africa Litigation Centre (SALC), Johannesburg, South Africa (2016), West Africa Executive Course on Human Rights and Drug Policy, Faculty of Law, University of Ghana, Legon, Accra, Ghana (2014), and Africa Advanced Training on Business and Human Rights and Grievance Mechanism by Center for Research on Multinational Corporations (SOMO) the Netherlands and Kenya Human Rights Commission, Naivasha, Kenya (2013).
Mr. Okereke holds Leadership positions as the National Working Group Member and Legal Adviser of Community Intervention Network on Drugs (CIND), and Steering Committee Member of Nigeria CSOs Coalition on Business and Human Rights. He was previously Chair, Project Implementation Committee (PIC) of the Affirmative Action Initiative for Women (NCAA)/DFID DFID/UKaid Voices for Change (V4c) Programme, Legislative Advocacy on Gender Equality and Opportunity Bill (GEOB) in Enugu State.

Mr. Okereke Chinwike has over 10 years of professional experiences in the wide areas of Law and Development, Environmental Rights, International Criminal Justice, Economic and Social Rights, Access to Justice and Legal Empowerment of the Poor, Business and Human Rights, Transparency and Accountability, Gender Justice and Women’s Human Rights, Child Rights Protection, Pre-Trial Justice and Justice Sector Reform, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Drug Policy Reform, Health and Human Rights, Natural Resource Justice, Democratic Governance, Peace Building and Conflict Resolution and among many others.
Mr. Okereke has done many professional research, publications and given speeches in various areas of law, justice and development both in Nigeria and oversea. He is also a published Creative Writer.
